First Day of School

Today was the first day of school and it was such a great day!! With the girls gone I got my house clean and all of my errands done..Peyton was so sad that she couldnt go to school with Blakely..I told her she gets to start pre-school next week but that didnt make it any better..It was great but sad at the same time..The house was so quiet when normaly I am used to three noisy kids..It made me think how fast time flies and how I wish time would stand still..It seems like everytime I blink there is another year gone by..It is crazy to think I have two kids in school this year..I am so thankful for my girls and they are such good girls..I just wish them a good year..

We went up to Salt Lake for almost two weeks..We do it every summer just to spend time with all of our family that live up there..It seems like when we go up for a weekend we never have time to see everyone or it is a rush so we always look forward to this week every summer..We did a lot and saw a lot..We went to the Zoo, The Treehouse in Ogden, The Living Planet Aquarium, Lagoon, Real Salt Lake Soccer Game, celebrated 4th of July and lots of birthdays..My brother-in-law got to skydive on Saturday and we were there to watch..It was good visiting with family and long lost friends that we havent seen for a while...We have the best family in the whole wide world..We are so blessed and so lucky to have each and everyone in our lives..I'm glad we got to spend so much time with everybody..Blakely and Peyton didnt want to come home..

Kindergarten Graduation

So I'm a little behind on my last couple of posts I know..But I have to post it just so I have it..This was Blakes Kindergarten graduation program..They did such a good job and I cant believe she is already done with kindergarten..Time is going by way to fast..

Memorial Weekend

I cant believe I forgot to blog about this..We had such an amazing time over Memorial weekend..The weather was so nice and relaxing despite the rain..We still had so much fun and we can always make a good time no matter what..We went and camped at the Kiabab Camp and RV in the Grand Canyon..I had never been to the Grand Canyon so it was really cool to see it..Our camp ground was so nice and secluded..It had huge pine trees everywhere..We went with our family and some friends..We had lots of yummy food especially the dutch oven bbq sandwiches..And Kasey made the yummiest cobbler I have every eaten..It was so so good!! On Saturday when we were heading up to the Canyon we were driving behind a pack of bikers..We went around one corner and the next thing we see is bikes crashed all over the road and people running..My bro-in-law is an EMT so we stopped to help..I have to admit is was so scary thinking about what I was about to see coming up on an accident..And just one that had barely happened right in front of our eyes..In the end it turned out ok and everyone went away with minor injuries..After we finally got up to the Grand Canyon it was hailing so hard that we just drove back down..On Monday it was really sunny and we finally got to hike in the canyon..It was such a fun and exciting trip..

Theme Dat at School

We always have theme days once a month at school..This month we were all on different teams and all the teams had to have their own theme..Our team was the cowboys..There was another team that was the cops, another was the robbers, and another was any crazy colors..I finally took my camera on this day..Some other exciting news to share is that I passed my 1500 hour test on Thursday..I studied all day on Monday and I thought it was so hard..I was stressing the whole time taking the test and the whole time is was being graded..But I got an 80% and now on to the 2000 hour test and state boards..

Swimming and BBQ

Daniel's mom and grandma came down and spent the whole week..It was a lot of fun..We had a swimming party and bbq with all of the cousins..All the kids had so much fun..We are so blessed to have such a close family and be able to spend time with eachother..It was the first time that Creu had ever swam and he hated it..I think he thought the water was to cold but everyone else thought it was just right..Peyton is our little swimmer even though she also gets cold every time we go swimming..She is always shivering but doesnt want to get out..Blakely likes to swim ok but if it wasnt for her cousins she would have nothing to do with it..

I think the infection might be back..This morning Peyton woke up and she had a fever of 103..She has been sleeping all day..I thought this might happen..None of my kids will ever take medicine..We tried to force her to take it but then she would just throw it back up..Then we tried hiding it in her strawberry milk but she would say it tasted gross..So I guess it's back to the doctors..Hopefully they will have a solution to actually get the medicine down..

For like two weeks Peyton had a fever that was 102.5..I took her to the Dr.'s and they said the fever was going around and it was called the fantom fever or some crazy thing like that..Finally at the end of the two weeks I took her to night lite pediatrics and they did a strep test and finally had her pee in a cup to see if she had any infections that way..Hooray for night lite..They found out she had a really bad bladder infection..I was so happy but in the same sense so sad that she had been in so much pain for two weeks..That same night she had a dance recital and she said she wanted to go so we took her..She was such a trooper but we could tell she was still so sick because the antibiotic hadnt had time to kick in yet..After about three days she was back to her normal self again..

She was so pale and sick..

I cant beleive Blakely is six..Where has the time gone..She is such a huge helper and a very big sister..We are so blessed to have her sweet spirit in ourlives..She had so much fun at her friend party..My sisters in-laws own a jump house business and so they brought a birthday cake bounce house down for us to have on her birthday..It was a huge hit..

Blakely wanted to participate in the science fair this year..She had alot of fun watching her apples each day..She was only one out of six kindergarteners that even participated this year..It was alot of work doing the board..Not so much the project itself..When it came down to the board we had a couple late nights..

House For Sale!!

I have had a couple people tell me to post our house on here so here ya go..If anyone knows of someone who is looking to buy let them know about our house..We really need to sell it..We officially put it up for sale last week and we have had two showings..It really suprises me because both of them have been older couples..O'well, whatever gets it sold..Right?? It's a little under 2700 sq feet..It has 4 bedrooms, and 2 1/2 bathrooms..It also has a salon/bonus room..There are block walls on both sides so it just needs one along the back wall..It's in a cul-de-sac with really nice neighbors and in the Little Valley area..

In God We Trust

My friend Dot posted this on her blog and I just loved it because over the last couple of weeks I have really had to trust in god and know that he has a plan for all of us..I have really had my faith tested and very much realizing that he does answer prayers..

You always hear the usual stories of pennies on the sidewalk being good luck, gifts from angels, etc. This is the first time I've ever heard this twist on the story. Gives you something to think about.

Several years ago, a friend of mine and her husband were invited to spend the weekend at the husband's employer's home. My friend, Arlene, was nervous about the weekend. The boss was very wealthy, with a fine home on the waterway, and cars costing more than her house.
The first day and evening went well, and Arlene was delighted to have this rare glimpse into how the very wealthy live. The husband's employer was quite generous as a host, and took them to the finest restaurants. Arlene knew she would never have the opportunity to indulge in this kind of extravagance again, so was enjoying herself immensely.

As the three of them were about to enter an exclusive restaurant that evening, the boss was walking slightly ahead of Arlene and her husband. He stopped suddenly, looking down on the pavement for a long, silent moment.

Arlene wondered if she was supposed to pass him. There was nothing on the ground except a single darkened penny that someone had dropped, and a few cigarette butts Still silent, the man reached down and picked up the penny.

He held it up and smiled, then put it in his pocket as if he had found a great treasure. How absurd! What need did this man have for a single penny? Why would he even take the time to stop and pick it up?

Throughout dinner, the entire scene nagged at her. Finally, she could stand it no longer. She casually mentioned that her daughter once had a coin collection, and asked if the penny he had found had been of some value.

A smile crept across the man's face as he reached into his pocket for the penny and held it out for her to see. She had seen many pennies before! What was the point of this?

"Look at it." He said. "Read what it says." She read the words " United States of America "
"No, not that; read further."
"One cent?" "No, keep reading."
"In God we Trust?" "Yes!" "And?"
"And if I trust in God, the name of God is holy, even on a coin. Whenever I find a coin I see that inscription. It is written on every single United States coin, but we never seem to notice it! God drops a message right in front of me telling me to trust Him? Who am I to pass it by? When I see a coin, I pray, I stop to see if my trust IS in God at that moment. I pick the coin up as a response to God; that I do trust in Him. For a short time, at least, I cherish it as if it were gold. I think it is God's way of starting a conversation with me. Lucky for me, God is patient and pennies are plentiful!

Left Knee Scope

For those of you who know me well you know that I have had a bad knee from highschool and all of my dancing years..I tore my meniscus my Junior year of highschool..Well, it wasnt that bad until I started hair school last January and then it gradually got worse..I finally went in and had knee surgery because it seemed like I was reinjuring it every other day..The last straw was one night I was at school doing hair and I twisted it really bad and I couldnt even hardly finish what I was doing because it hurt so bad to stand..I went in to see my doctor and he said if HAIR was going to be my career I might as well do the surgery now while I was still young..I thought that was a very nice compliment..Anyway!!! I had it done on December 12th and I didnt get very good pictures of the aftermath but I will post what I have..I did though get some really cool pictures of the inside of me knee..It really is confusing unless the doctor is explaining what everything is..All went good and I went last week to get the stiches taken out..He said that it was one of the worst torn meniscus' he has ever seen..I would believe him..I was always in so much pain..Hopefully it will keep getting better and I will be pain free forever..The only downfall is that the Dr. said I will get arthritis in my knee pretty bad because he had to cut so much of the meniscus out that there is not much left to support the knee bones..O'well, the things we do to feel good!!

There were only two little incisions..The other one was on the other side of my knee..It was same day surgery and I was only on crutches for two days..After that I used only one for a couple more days and then I was walking all by myself..It was weird to start walking again because it was such a different feeling to not have the cushion between the two knee bones..

Peyton loves Barbie Diamond Castle..And so she wanted to have a birthday with a barbie theme..She had to wear her princess dress and Angie made her a barbie cake..She was so excited..Her birthday isnt until Wednesday but with all the New Years parties that night we decided to celebrate it on Saturday..Rachel and Josh were here from Salt Lake so it was fun to have them here for it..

Christmas 2008

Ok, ok..Sorry about the long time between posts...I really have been busy..It is the holidays afterall..HaHa..It has been hard this year with the economy the way it is and with a husband in construction it has been especially hard..I havnt felt like much for posting..Anyway, we did have a good Christmas and we were very thankful we could do what we did this year..Thanks to good family and friends it makes it easier to go through times like this..I didnt take any pictures at Thanksgiving so you'll just have to settle for Christmas..First we had to get a picture of our annual Christmas Pj's that we open up every year on Christmas Eve..

Creus Christmas..He had no clue what was going on but he was just happy to be here and loved eating the wrapping paper..

Peytons Christmas..She was really excited to get diamond castle barbies and all the disney princess barbies..She also got a lot of tinkerbell stuff..Another one of her favorite things..

Blakelys Christmas..She was so excited to see that santa brought her a DS..She has done nothing but play with her DS since Christmas day..

And to answer Dots question..As you can probably tell from the pictures, yes, we did finally move into our house..It's not going to be very long lived though..On Monday we are going to put it up for sale and hope that with some miracle that it doesnt take long to sale..Not likely I know but we can only hope and pray right?? I know everyone is probably in shock just about now but with construction being so slow we are afraid if it goes on much longer we will not be able to keep the house anyway..We are looking at other options that include moving up North..Which is not exciting for the cold but would be fun to be close to our family..Daniel knows some people up there that might be able to get him a job..Right now it is just a waiting game to see what will happen in the New Year..I read the other day from an ecomonist that in 2009 there will be 20% more construction job losses in St George alone..That doesnt sound promising for the type of work that Daniel does..So, I guess for now we will wait and see..We hope that everyone has a great New Years!!

We started off by going to the school (Paul Mitchell) and have the girls faces painted and hair done but Blakely only wanted her face painted and Peyton wanted nothing to do with any of it..Then we went trick or treating with our friends and their kids..After we were done with that we hit random houses of other people we knew..All in all it was a pretty good Halloween!!

We are almost finished with yet another one of our houses..We should be done in about two or three weeks..Daniel has done the most work he has ever done in this house and the pictures will show for it..He has worked every single weekend for the last couple of months..Not to mention he has been working out of town during the week for every step of the way..Me and thanks to our general we got everything worked out..I am really excited to move in..We really like the area and we have already met a lot of our neighbors..It will be a good place to be..

I finally got some pictures on here of Blakely and her soccer team..This is her second year playing and she loves it..All year she talks about when the time comes to play soccer again..I was looking at her pictures from last year..It was so funny because she looks like such a baby compared to pictures this year..It is amazing how much older they look from year to year..

Creu is growing up so fast..I cant beleive he is almost three months old..It makes me sad especially because he is our last one..He is developing such a fun personality..And he smiles at every person he can get his eyes on..We love him so much and we are very glad he is apart of our family!!

I colored my moms hair last night at school and I didnt wear gloves..I hate gloves..They are so bulky and dont fit skin tight to my hands..I knew my hands would be stained after I was done..But I didnt think it would be this bad..I have tried a couple of things to take the color off..SO far rubbing alcohol has worked the best and it has only lightened the color..I am now on a quest to find some nice fitting gloves so that everytime I color hair I dont look like I just changed the oil in a car..LOL!!!

We go to Bryce Canyon every year for Labor Day..It has been a tradition of ours for seven years now..We get together with all of Daniels brothers and sisters and we all stay in the tipis at Ruby's Inn right outside of the park..We usually go on a few hikes, eat a lot of food, and swim in the pool..Oh, and stay up late sitting around the camp fire talking and laughing after the kids have gone to bed of course..

Today was Blakelys first day of kindergarten..She was so excited to explore her classroom..She had a pirates treasure hunt..There were ten different spots and it got them to learn about the rules and centers in the class..Also it tested their writing skills and reading skills..She was so excited to have a big girl bookbag and to be going to big girl school..I am excited for her..She was so funny because as we were getting out of the car she said to me, "Do you really have to come in with me"..I laughed so hard..That is so Blakely..She is very independent..I told her only today I would have to and then the rest of the year she could do it by herself..LOL!

Random Facts~

* I am the biggest control freak..This probably doesnt come as a suprise to those of you who know me really well..Although I do try to control it ..But most of the time I have to know what is going on, when and how..I have to know every last detail about everything..And if I'm not the one planning a trip, a night out, etc.., it is almost like I cant handle it..I get anxiety and worry the whole time that something is going to go wrong or plans will fall through because I didnt oversee it all..Daniel is the perfect husband for me because he is really laid back and just lets me do it all. I even have a hard time watching my kids color a picture, etc..because I want them to do it my way and use colors I would use..Weird I know, but I am really working on that one..
* I have to be busy all the time..I love having tons of things to do..If I have a second to sit down I just sit there and think up of things that I could be doing..Maybe it's the anxiety side of me...
* I am really OCD about cleaning and organization..This kind of goes back to the control part but I have to have everything put where I want it and organized how I like it..I cant function if things are messy and not put back in the right place..It is like my whole day falls apart..

Current Obessions~

* While I was pregnant I gave up pepsi because it really mad me sick and I was so thirsty all the time through the summer months that all would help was water..But now 4 weeks later I am craving pepsi like never before..The other day I gave in and bought a 36 pack..It was gone within a week..Ahhhh, but it is so good!!!
* Making sure that everything is getting done on my house..The framers probably think I am stalking them because I am over there like everyday to see what they got done..It's very stressful building..

Goals~

* Getting done with hair school..I have been on leave for three months so that I could have my baby..But now I am ready to go back and get finished..I am only going part-time so I still have a year and a half until I am done..
* Getting my house built by the end of November..I hated last time when we built our second house and we moved in on Christmas Eve..It was terrible but I was stubborn and wanted to be in before Christmas..
* Losing all my baby weight..I have about 19 lbs to go...Yay!!!

*I am deathly afraid of dogs..I was bit by a little dog when I was about ten and ever since then I have been scared for life..I hate when people just let their dogs run wild..Even if they are nice you never know when they will snap..I am so scared of a dog attacking my kids..I would never be able to save them if a dog attacked..I think about that every time we take a walk around our neighborhood..I freeze up if we see a dog running loose at a park, etc...My family even had dogs my whole life growing up but they are still scary!!
* Sorry Kristi, I have to steal this one from you..I am so scared to talk in front of people..I get sick to my stomach and I start having panic attacks..If someone asked me to talk for a big group I would have to say no..I have so much anxiety for that kind of thing it would just not be worth it..

My Joys~

* I am so thankful for the life that I have..I love my family and friends..I love the beautiful place we live and all the people here..I love watching my kids grow and learn new things..I love that I love Daniel more and more each day..I wouldnt change anything for the world..

We were supposed to be heading off to beautiful California today for a friends wedding but in the middle of all the craziness we happened to stumble on a stomach bug..Everyone in the house got really sick and so we had to cancel our trip..We were also going to go to Seaworld while we were there because Blakely and I have never been there..O'well..It will be a good excuse to go on another vacation later this year..

I have had so much fun at Paul Mitchell.. I have met some amazing people including Yosh Toya..

I cant wait to go back and get into the swing of things..Taking leave was a huge relief but now I am ready to rock-n-roll!!
